Basic Warmups

Yawn to release tension in your throat shoulders and stomach. (pay attention to the stretching feeling)

Cough gently (cah, cah , cah sounds) to practice the initial breath we want for singing

Lip roll (like blowing a raspberry) a few large sighs

Shake your head (like you’re in a shampoo commercial) and repeat the sighing lip roll. (feel your stomach muscles work a little)

Siren voice in a lip roll from your very highest note, to your lowest.

Siren voice in a lip roll from your very lowest note to your highest. (start with your shoulders shrugged and release as you get higher to keep you from tensing)
Sing Along Practice
Sing Along with the following recordings, using the syllables discussed in class.
Remember, stay relaxed, breath with your diaphragm (tummy breaths), and never push beyond whats comfortable. The recordings may start lower, or end higher than you can comfortably sing.
